KACC Artisans Helping Sick Kids
During the past year a group of people, many of them members of Kamloops Arts & Crafts Club, met at Michael’s Craft Store where, under the direction of Lynne Davidson,
they joined over a thousand knitted and crocheted squares to make 169 cosy, colourful afghans. These afghans were then donated to the Kamloops Shrine Club # 6 to give out to sick children being transported by the Shriner’s
bus to treatments.
The following is an excerpt of a letter received from the Shrine Club: The Shrine appreciates the time and effort that you so unselfishly give in helping to make
our patients’ journey to yet another treatment a little more comfortable by introducing an element of hominess with the blankets. They are very much appreciated by all. We can only hope you will continue with these efforts
into the future.

Thanks to all members who gave of their time to stitch the afghans and especially to Diane Mertz for organizing our members to join in.
Sometime this fall/early winter, the group will once again be back at Michael’s to stitch together another bunch of afghans. Anyone is welcome to join the group –
and you need not be a KACC member to participate. Contact Diane at 250 573-4397 for days and times.
